Billy Ray Cyrus
Dh told me about an interview he heard with Billy Ray Cyrus. Billy Ray says his biggest regret in life is letting Miley star in "Hannah Montana". She has turned into a different girl than she was when she began and has lost her innocence (my words not his) and his marriage is in tatters as well. It's very sad to hear that. I am sure he thought he was making a wonderful decision at the time, but it was a decision that has cost them almost everything. What are your thoughts on the matter? Unfortunately the life of actors and actresses and singers is often one that is fast paced and leads to destruction. Is there a child actor/actress or performer who has truly stayed on the straight and narrow path?

So sad... I've heard of the interview but have not read it. Two child actresses I know of who have turned out ok are Melissa Gilbert and Lisa Whelchel. But that doesn't really surprise me! :)
Yes, his life is a train wreck. So sad. Ron Howard - {"The Andy Griffith Show" as Opie} has certainly turned out okay, but he's one of the few. xoxo
It is very sad, but he and his wife let their dd have way too much freedom much too young. She was doing very age inappropriate things years ago when they were in control of her (she was a minor). When parents act like friends to their children instead of parents, it is a recipe for disaster.
Tragedy does seem to be such a common theme for child stars, doesn't it?
I saw bits and pieces of that interview and I feel badly for him. He couldn't have known he was making a bad decision for her...as parents, we make decisions for our kids every day and just pray that we're doing right by them. Hindsight is always 20/20.
I'd like to think that Justin Bieber will turn out okay. My daughter forced me to see his movie and I have to admit I kinda fell in love with him myself. Seems like such a sweet, "normal" kid...hope he stays that way!
