What is a typical Saturday like in your house? Is it a day for home projects, a day to watch your children play sports, or a day for you to vacate the premises? Do you enjoy time together as a family or do you escape?
I love Saturdays!!! Since we started off with a bang called triplets, it has never been easy for DH to take the children to breakfast. In reality, that's not as easy and fun as it sounds. Instead, we sleep as long as we can, which can mean anywhere from 6am to 8am, and then we wake up for a family breakfast. DH loves to buy the children their favorite bagels or chicken minis and to give me a day off from cooking breakfast. We eat together as a family, and DH & I often read the paper.
Most Saturdays we spend our time together as a family. If I need to run an errand or DH needs a haircut, one of us will leave, usually with a child in tow for "special time". Here in Florida, we spend a lot of time by the pool. The children swim and we grill our lunch or dinner and enjoy their squeals of delight.
Since Florida has so many fun things to see, sometimes we will go on a great adventure. One Saturday shortly after we moved here, we drove to Indian Rocks Beach just to eat Lighthouse Donuts for the first time! We have been to Disney quite a few times, and we've toured the beaches as well. It is so nice to have a relaxed day together as a family.
We've never had a Wii family night, so I think we may try that tonight after dinner. We grilled chicken for lunch, but I'm hoping for a little Pane' Rustica takeout tonight. What do you do on Saturday?

Your Saturdays sound like they are filled with great family time. I usually spend Saturdays catching up on things from the week, cooking and getting clothes and other things ready for the coming week.
Love spending Saturdays with the family. Since hubby and I work outside the home we usually spend Saturday morning doing housework, yardwork and laundry. We usually pick up lunch at a our favorite local BBQ place. In the summers we spend a lot of time at our family getaway- "The Pond". We grill, swim, fish, read by the pool and eat lots of popsicles.
Saturday morning rituals are great. Today we went to our Middle School family community service project - we went to another school and planted, painted, washed windows, etc. My husband is still there working on amazing garden play area for the K children. Although I personally did not do that much, it felt great to do something for someone else.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Best,
Sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday!! Next weekend is the March for Babies walk for The March of Dimes. I am walking with some friends and my mom. Also my friend who gave birth th g,g,b triplets in January said she is going to try and make it with 2 of the babies. We are doing the Safety Harbor walk. Check out the website www.Marchforbabies.com.
For us, Saturdays start off with dance class then we usually go out to lunch and run some errands. Sometimes it could be the zoo, or the aquarium or the playground. We're homebodies, so it tends to be just hanging around enjoying each other.
I wish we had warm weather and a pool. That sounds like the perfect Saturday to me!
We worked in our backyard for 6 hours today! The worst part is that we aren't done yet. Now I'm so tired and sore that I can hardly type. The yard looks SO much better though.
Sounds like you all have a pretty great Saturday! We usually have dance so we do that and then do some shopping while DH does stuff around the house. Hope your having a great weekend! xoxo
Since I work all week I feel a bit of panic on Saturdays to both have family time and fit in all my errands and personal things. In the fall and spring we have at least one kid in a sport, and often two, so hubby takes one and I take the other. I do grocery shopping (usually by myself in the midafternoon) and my husband does yard work or sometimes takes the kids to the driving range or some other fun activity. We do always plan a delicious and fun Sat. family dinner. All I know...is they go by way too fast.
