Butterfly Garden

I've volunteered to help one of our classes plant a garden at school. I believe we're going to attempt a butterfly garden. Have you ever planted one? What do you recommend? Were you successful? We had a butterfly bush at our old house and the butterflies did love it! Share any advice you may have. Thanks, y'all!

Our school has a butterfly garden. I will find out exactly what plants there are!

Hi, we have one at my kid's school. Blooming jasmine is one that they like. There are 2 pluses, it also draws bees which pollinate as needed and it smells great. The minus is that it draws bees which when crossed with kids can equal stings.

Love to know how you do it!

What a lovely idea! My recommendation: visit your local nursery- they'll most likely have plants that attract butterflies grouped together on display. And because you're doing this for a school they just might give you a discount.

My mother had a butterfly garden at our home when I was a child and I will never forget how many butterflies it attracted. The #1 flower you must have is called the buddleia butterfly bush. The blossoms are gorgeous and they attract so many varieties of butterflies! Let me know what you think!
