Dear G.P. (General Public)

Dear GP (General Public),

When you are visiting Disney, or any public place with lots of people, there are some simple suggestions (RULES) that you might want to follow. Here is a partial list.

#1. My baby wants to go on this ride as much as yours does. We happened to get in line a few minutes before you did. If you push and shove us and then get in front of us, we are going to spend 30 uncomfortable minutes together while we both continue to wait for the ride. Don't jump. It's so junior high.

#2. If you decide to hop skip jump in front of my stroller's path, I am going to hit you. I am good but I am not that good. Moving targets that cut in front of our stroller's wheels are subject to some pain. Don't go hopping in front of my baby!

#3. If you walk aimlessly in a diagonal pattern with no sense of where you are or where you are going, see #2. Again, I'm good but if you cross my path and I don't have advance warning, you're going to feel that baby Jogger's wheels on your legs.

#4. When you breathe and cough down my neck it's just plain nasty. If I wanted to be that close to you, I would have married you. Even spouses don't breathe on each other in line. Please don't do that to me.

#5. Flush.

#6. Flush again if it didn't work the first time.

#7. A girl needs her personal space. I won't get in yours if you won't get in mine.

#8. Deodorant. Deodorant. Deodorant. My fifth grade teacher was known as the Deodorant Lady. Obviously many of you did not have the same teacher. I can't take the wet dog/onion smell.

#9. Brush your hair. If you don't want to dress up and be cute, that's your prerogative. But brush your hair.

#10. Keep your tramp stamps to yourself. It's Disneyworld, not Hedonism II. You're causing a lot of angst in our family.

#11. Some things are best done in private. Eating a turkey leg just might be one of them. That and a frozen banana.

That's all, folks!!

love you for this post. I wish a manners and social etiquette class was required to graduate from high school.

This should be posted upon entering any public area and announced over the loud speaker throughout the day.

I won't comment about clothing choices as I've had parents drop off their children {in my classroom} while still dressed in their jammies.

Bwahaha!!! I remember you did something like this last year. Seriously we could station ourselves at the park 24/7 - 365 and we would never ever run out of things to add to this list! The turkey leg thing. I just don't get it.

Can we just drop these as flyers from an airplane? Such a great letter. I have mentioned you on my blog post this weekend. All the best, Coryanne

Well said! I will never understand the turkey leg fetish.

I couldn't agree more on the turley legs. I had a bite of my sisters last time as we hid from the public. Then everywhere we went people were going to town on them. It made me sick and I'll never touch one again :)

Amen. Stay warm out there, please. It is so cold. But back to the etiquette part.Sometimes I wonder if something is wrong with me for having etiquette. I hold doors for people only to have them pass me as if it were my job.Yikes.But at least I know I'm not the only one with manners. Enjoy Disney.

#1 just makes everyone so uncomfortable! It's sad that people just "don't know any better!" (or choose not to...). And you have great fodder for more blog posts!

Regardless, have fun!

LOL! Seems a lot of people check their manners at the gate at WDW. What ever happened to common decency?

Hope you are having a great trip!

Thank you for speaking out about the tramp stamps. They have gotten way out of hand. There is no regulation in that industry. I teach at the high school level. Kids come to school with those things permanently inked on their boddies. Evidently, the artist aren't checking ID to make sure these kids are of age. Schools and work places need to crackdown on dress codes including inked skin that is uncovered.

I totally agree with this! It drives me crazy!! I am one that needs my space as well, or I can get kinda mean! LOL! We went to Disney on our honeymoon in the middle of July, it was hot, busy and I was hungry when we arrived at the first park. So let's just say, my hubby got to see all of that on our honeymoon! HA!!

HILARIOUS! We took our 1st trip to Disney in October, so all of this is still pretty fresh! I honestly do not know how many people I took out w/ our stroller! I didn't realize how many dirty looks I can get in one day! Oops! Sorry people! :)

I love this post. I cannot tell you how much I hate those idiots that step out in front of my stroller. There is no way I can stop. Then they have the nerve to look at me funny when I run over their foot. I have to say though--I DO get some kind of perverse pleasure out of injuring them after they have done something so insanely stupid! They deserve it...

We were there yesterday. The people watching is priceless. And what's up with people stopping right in the middle of the walkways. I'm a FL native but I think I prefer Disneyland.
