I am the happy wife of one amazing husband and the proud mother of 5 precious angels, including a set of triplets!! I love being a mother & learning how to better love, care for, cook for, and educate our children. I also like to help others when they don't receive the service promised at hotels, restaurants, etc. Enjoy learning about life at Mama Henley's House!

OMG I totally remember reading those! I loved them. I also loved the Seven Chinese Brothers!
Ok I could not remember if there were five or seven brothers. I think the five was what I read as a child. Isn't it strange what stories stick with you forever?!
how cute! I love classic children's books too! Macy learned to read with the Dick and Jane series. Hope your having a great weekend! xoxo
I love Flicka, Ricka and Dicka. I read them as a child, taken out of the library, and bought both sets for my boys. Have you ever read All-of-a-Kind Family by Sydney Taylor? It is the sweetest story about five sisters growing up in NYC at the turn of the century, published in 1951. It is still in print, and a must read. And how about Mama's Bank Account and Cheaper By The Dozen, both books were favorites growing up.
I LOVED the girl triplet books when I was a child! I checked them out of the library obsessively. LOL
I need to get them for Mathilda!
And All of a Kind Family is an all time fave of mine. I have a copy waiting for my DD.
Oh, Sherrie! I loved the Seven Chinese Brothers! Also, Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel and The Little House.
Gwennie, I loved all five books of All of a Kind Family. Actually, I learned so much about the Jewish faith and practices from reading those. Funny... for years, I thought the word SYNAGOGUE was pronounces: "sah naj" for some reason. Knew what a synagogue was whenever I HEARD the word, just never could read it!
Love these! What afun memory post.

classic children's books are the best, so much better than some of the rubbish you can get today. So happy you found them. I bet your children are loving them. Well done for finding them.
I, too, love old-fashioned children's books! Two of my son's favorites were My Father's Dragon and Wolf Story. Fun to read other commenters' recommendations too.
