You're Drivin' Me CRAZY!
Tampa drivers are nuts. Plain and simple. They are CRA-ZY. Certifiable. I will be driving down the road, minding my own business, and a car will honk. I don't have any infuriating bumper stickers with a political message that might encourage the honking. I don't have a Christian fish or a rainbow. The only bumper sticker I have is for Camp Greystone. I just don't get it. Why do they honk? Why are they so mean? I never hurt anyone!!! Today I was trying to make a left hand turn at a busy intersection. I scooted forward only to discover that I could not turn left. Of course the light turned red and so I had to scoot back just a little. I have a special rear view mirror camera that allows me to see the car behind me. I scooted back a teeny tiny bit. Every time I scooted a little, she HONKED!!! I was furious. What a control freak! I was not going to hit her ugly car and hurt my pretty one, believe me. I just can't get over all of the horn honkers here in town. Do you have them in your city?

I live in Atlanta metro area. There are no words for the driving conditions here.
I'm happy to say we don't, but I lived outside Orlando for several years, and I found the in-town driving challenging. So many drivers are much older (past 85), or can't read English, or are from out-of-town and unsure of where they needed to go. That combination made driving a very tense experience. I imagine Tampa is very similar and probably worse.
Um, helllloooo, I live outside of Boston. Enough said.
I have definitely had that feeling before when I was living in Charlotte, but now I live in smalltown-ville, SC and I am the one getting mad...not really, but everything is a little bit slower pace. Don't let them get to you though! You never know what might happen!
I drove through Atlanta once and was on the verge of crying by the end!
I live in an old-age town and they are the ones who honk...like if I am backing out of a parking spot and come within 30 feet of one of their big white Cadilacs.
The last thing I want to do is startle someone who might be about to hit me!
My parents lived in Chicago 30 years and that was just a nightmare to drive through when you are from a small Ohio town!!!
Horns are so annoying. SOMETIMES I appreciate them if they keep me from hitting someone but most of the time they bug me!!
I had someone honk at me in a small town I was driving through to get to Edisto! Crazy!
You have NO idea what CRAZY is until you drive in Delhi! They use the center white line to center their car as they drive down the road. Not honking is unusual and there are cars, bikes, people, elephants, horses, camels, etc all over the roads!
I've driven tons in Tampa and I agree with you! I guess because it's a biggish (is that a word :) city, drivers are a little more crazy. We live in a smaller upstate New York town and I don't find the same thing here. But when I go "home" to Arizona... oh my goodness, driving can be scary! I hate being honked at... especially when I've done nothing wrong! I guess that's why I almost never use my horn. Anyway... don't let 'em get you down. Just keep being the cute, safe driver you are ;)
It sounds like Miss Janice needs to go to Tampa and teach a class on "Roadway Manners". That's after she cleans up all the nasty, rude drivers in South Florida!
Miss Janice, we DO need you!
