Fall Favorites

In the heart of fall, I love love love to go to a football game. There is nothing like a home game in Sanford Stadium unless it's the 2010 season! This year our Dawgs are having a hard time. Nonetheless, it is always fun to be between the hedges. It brings back memories of butterflies during a first date, a fight between 2 fraternities, band parties, great Guthrie's chicken fingers, TBone's grilled chicken salad after the game, and dressing up in dresses and hats for a football game. We'd wake up early to do our hair and put on dresses to go sit and watch football. I love it. Pledges wore coat and tie and looked all spiffy. As the crowd roared, "GOOOOOOOOOOOO DAWGS!!! Sic' em!! Woof Woof Woof!", the hair on your arms would stand at attention. There is no better place to be on a Saturday than at a football game in Sanford Stadium.

My favorite game was the Clemson/Ga. night game in 1991 on October 5th. What a fun night!

Didn't realize you were a UGA gal! My daughter LOVES to go to watch UGA gymnastics and LOVES Athens. She is only 10, so we will see. I hate it for the Dawgs this year. Even though my hubby is a die hard Gamecock, I have come to love the Dawgs living here in Aiken!

Although my college did not have a football team [horrors] I still embraced PENN STATE since I had sisters who went there! Right after we graduated, hubby lived in New Orleans and I in Texas. PENN STATE vs. GEORGIA Sugar Bowl National Champs in the super dome....talk about chills! Saw Herschel Walker for the first time! Now my son is at Clemson and we are embracing that!
PS Heard Clemson is playing Georgia again in the 2013-2014 season.....I PROMISE I will be at that game wherever played...wanna meet?

So funny you mentioned the hair on your arms standing up as the game starts. My daughter recently attended her first UGA game. As we crossed the bridge the trumpeter was playing Glory to Ole Georgia, the crowd started to roar and she said "I'm shivering". It is truly an awesome experience.
