A Look Back in Time....

When I was a little girl, my last name was at the very end of the alphabet. When 486 students graduated from my high school class, I was number 482. I am not kidding. Do you know what it does to a girl to always be LAST? Honey, I was last for everything. In fact, I spent my entire elementary school career NEVER being chosen to be a library helper. I am scarred to this day! I couldn't wait to help Mrs. Walker or Mrs. Moseley in the library. I wanted to stamp those books with that fun date stamp so badly I could taste it. Year after year, it never happened. Poor little 8 year old Mama Henley never had her chance to shine in the library, and I've never forgotten it! :)

I was last for everything. I always had to wait at the end of the line with the rest of the T, U, Vs, and XYZs. Imagine my delight when I moved up in the alphabet. I mean, the middle is a world of difference!! It is before Q, R, and S! Thankfully our children will never know the despair of not being chosen for library helper. There is justice in the world!

Funny! I never thought of it that way....those lucky "A"'s! Being an "S" I was near the end too and glad I just wasn't a "Z"! Ha! Always something to be thankful for!

I was a "A" & first name was a "T". so I felt what it was like to be the 1st & the last. My children are ABs & BB, so they are always first & sometimes that's not always a good thing.
