Creative Dinner

Our friend, D, is an avid hunter. He has been to Africa and other exciting places to hunt. On the walls of their house, unique animals like the kudu are displayed. It is fascinating! He just had a little birthday and his wife, W, invited us over for a very last minute dinner with our 2 families. She made the best fried chicken I have ever had (sorry, Mama, I haven't had yours in years). It was fantastic! She also made yummy mashed potatoes and fried okra, a meal sure to win every man's heart. (I fear DH is ready for a trade-in on this model-me). She had set the loveliest table in honor of her love. I thought you'd love to see the antlers and china and just how perfect everything looked!

I grew up with African trophies in our home, glad your friends just put the antlers on the table! Thankfully one by one my mom has been getting my dad to move them to there vacation home.

Wow, that was a creative tablescape in honor of hubby's birthday! I think that antlers and silver was quite ingenious!

Thanks so much for dropping by From Our Front Porch and leaving your kind comment. My husband wants to relocate in about 7 years to Florida (I have family and he has friends in the Tampa area), but I just don't know if this life-long midwestern girl can get used to life w/o the change of seasons!!!

Blessings to you from Kansas,

P.S. I also left you a message on your cute post about your little ones' backseat conversation.

Thank you for the inspiration to set the table tonight after a long day!

Wow! I've never seen a table thusly decorated - but it looks great!

You mean, you did not take a picture of the fried chicken?! I zoomed in on all those pictures to get a look at W's fried chicken.

I do love the antler centerpiece. I will have to remember that. Samuel's antlers are somewhere packed up at home.

Thanks for sharing!
