Love one another deeply, as Christ loved us

Today a sweet friend struggles through her last days or hours of battling cancer.  She is a young mother with a faithful husband and two little boys.  It is heartbreaking to think of what she is going through, and what her husband, sons, parents, and sister are all going through.  It is a pain I hope my children never have to bear.  The only happy thing is that S did not lose her battle.  Yes, barring a miracle, cancer is ultimately going to take her life, but she has won the battle!!!  You see, S accepted Christ as her Savior as a little girl.  She recently reaffirmed her faith, and so the battle has been won.  While we will all mourn to lose her here on earth, we can rejoice because she will soon rest in the arms of our Heavenly Father.

Whenever you see loved ones going through a storm, it makes you look inward.  Seeing S's family go through this, reminds me yet again of how PRECIOUS life is.  We have no idea how many days we will have on this earth, and we must live each day as if its our last.  Some of us are facing those last days, and others have no idea our day is just around the corner or 50 years from now.  But today is a GIFT.  Whether you have sunshine or rain, a good hair day or a terrible hair day, today is the only Sept. 28,2008 that each of us will have. Celebrate today. Hug your family. Be a friend to those in need.  Love the friends you have & make new ones.  Share a laugh, a meal, and a conversation with those you love most.  I know I will.
