Pioneers

Ma and Pa at Breakfast

Pa with his real-life Pa

Laura, our D

Our precious second graders have been studying the Pioneers. They recently read "Little House in the Big Woods". Today their book study ended with a Pioneer Day. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. Sweet little cherubs dressed as Pioneers. Our precious class has six second graders. They worked it out amongst themselves to each be a character from Little House on the Prairie. Ma, Pa, and Laura live at my house. Aren't they the cutest things you've ever seen?!

Costumes look fab, and look at all your stunning sunshine too. Looking forward to Margeaux learning American History, no chance at a costume lesson here, the costumes would be too hard to recreate.

So completely adorable! I love that your school does that... how fun (and educational) for your children :) And their costumes are the best! Did you make them?

Love the Little House series- books and TV show. Check out his radio program that has a segment on Laura Ingalls Wilder and the town where she lived and wrote in South Dakota.

Thanks for your comments, y'all! I love that our school still reads the classics. Too sweet. Mrs. Aikenite, I can't wait to listen to that segment. Seven Alstons, I did not make the costumes. We borrowed Ma's dress and bonnet but we had a dress and bonnet for Laura. I bought Pa some new suspenders and told him we had to use what we had. It worked out well because those dresses sell for $60-85 on ebay and etsy! I couldn't buy 3 outfits! Happy Thursday!

Mrs. Bliss, wouldn't it be fun to wear a royal gown though? Total bliss!

I remember the sunbonnets my grandmother bought me and my sister... we played LHOTP all the time!

Love that you had half the family in your own family!
