To vaccinate or not to vaccinate?

What are your thoughts on the swine flu vaccine? Forty-three children have already died from swine flu. This is the equivalent of the number of deaths in an entire regular flu season. However, most of the cases of children we know who have had swine flu have been relatively mild for the flu. I am leaning towards giving the children the vaccine, but I wonder what other mothers are thinking? Will you please take time to comment and discuss?

I cannot tell you HOW torn I am ... I saw a video on FB featuring someone who had an adverse reaction. I thought then that no way no how... but too many healthy children are dying from the repercussions of this one... I am not toying with my childrens' lives... there I said it. I am vaccinating!

My sister is going through the same dilema, I think she is leaning towards vaccinating.

We chose not to vaccinate due to egg allergies and other concerns. You have to be willing to look around and find out all the issues that surround vaccinations. My husband works for a drug company and I did before kids. I know friends in a previous company who were told not to report side effects - at least in writing. (that company had a multi-billion dollar fine to prove it) My dad is a pharmacist and a doctor so I am not anti-drugs/medicine at all!

Be willing to know why you don't want to or why you will stand behind that decision. Complications can occur because of the vaccine or because you didn't vaccinate. Make the best decision for your child and family.
